Sheetrock is up!

This is one of the most exciting phases because you have all of the walls up and the house feels like a house again! Now we get to begin the creative phase of picking out tile, cabinets, wall colors, and decor that make it your own special place.  Stay tuned to see bathroom transformations soon!

Reframing the Masterpiece

We redesigned the layout of several rooms throughout the house for better use of the space. We have created a more open andinviting kitchen area that easily flows with the living room. We changed the layout in the master bedroom to allow for his and hers walk-in closets, while also enlarging the upstairs walk-in closets. The final major change came by relocating the guest bathroom to create a workout room next to the master bedroom.

Phase 1: Demolition of DLC Makeover

The tear out phase has begun! You won’t even recognize some of the rooms, because all of the flooring and walls have been removed. You might notice the beautiful stone fireplace is gone, but don’t worry, there are plans to use that somewhere else in the future. Keep your eyes out to see how we reuse it!

The last pictures show the guest house where we will be living while the DLC Makeover progresses, which has been painted, tiled, and carpeted. It has been very cozy for my husband and me living with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a teenager all in the same room without a kitchen, but we are enjoying each step of this experience!

Before the Transformation

We have closed on the house and are very excited to begin renovations. The house was beautiful to start with, but there are a lot of changes in the works to make it our own. Stay tuned for the phase 1 of the DLC Makeover!

Bittersweet Goodbyes

As some of you may have heard by now, Bob and I have sold our home.  We’ve been here longer than any other home over the last 30 years – almost 9 years.  It’s a little bittersweet. We certainly need to downsize with Jennifer and Heather gone, but we will miss the views…. they are irreplaceable.

We are considering the purchase of an existing home.  It is on a beautiful lot, with great marsh views.  It already has a guesthouse, which will be perfect when everyone comes “home” to visit.  The house is 19 years old, has great bones, but needs a lot of TLC, or should we say DLC (Donna Lynne Custom Homes!).  I’ve been doing a lot of remodeling lately so this will fit right in.

Stay tuned… I will keep you all updated with before and after pictures as we DLC the new homestead!!! In the meantime, if you know of anyone else that has a home that needs some DLC or is in the market to build his or her future dream home, please give me a call!
